Restaurants - Increase Your Customer Base - Discounts on Restaurants

Yes, we want you to give discounts on your restaurant! Whether you're a brand new restaurant or already in business for a while, in a slow economy you'll want to increase your customer base so you always have regular customers coming as well as new customers through the door. Customers want to go out, they enjoy time with friends and family not having to cook at home all the time, they want savings and discounts and you can help them. This is one idea to boost your restaurant summer sales too. Oftentimes, customers will only try a new restaurant or a high end restaurant with some kind of coupon or discount item. Returning customers appreciate discounts too and both of these groups of customers will tell their friends about you, your staff, your food and your restaurant once they come and have a meal so it's a good idea to consider giving discounts.

Word of Mouth is one of your best advertising ideas - We'll talk more about advertising your business later but, here's an idea to get more customers through your doors quickly and returning more often:

     1. Establishing your own website - this is critical in this age of technology, is fairly easy to do yourself or to find a local website designer to get it started for you, then simply update and maintain it.

     2. Join www.restaurant.com. This website is great for businesses and for customers alike. It's free to join, simply go to the site and register. List your website url. You will offer a $25 gift certificate to your restaurant for $10. Restaurants.com does keep the money but, you get a customer than may not necessarily come to your business without a coupon/deal or offer. You also get an opportunity to meet new customers, keep customers interested in your business, your staff, your food and they will return when they enjoy the dining experience and they'll no doubt tell their friends!

     3. Customers register for free for an account with restaurant.com with a valid email address, they choose the restaurant gift certificate they want to purchase, click on the link, buy the certificate, print it and use it in your business. Simple for the customer and the business. You can track how many gift certificates you redeem from the restaurant.com site to determine the advantages.

     4. Try it and decide for yourself if you think it's worth it. We found that by offering a simple discount to the customer with a gift certificate we didn't print or mail, didn't get charged the credit card processing fee for, it's helpful. Many customers spend more money than just $25 too. You can cancel it if you don't think it's the right fit for you (must honor the gift certificates already purchased) but, if you take a look, you'll see that your competition probably isn't too great since not all restaurants belong so you have an advantage over other competing restaurants.

I do believe that establishing a website will greatly help since most people are into online searches.
